With God.

You may have heard churches talk about the “good news”. The Good News is that you can know for certain that you have eternal life in Jesus.  I John 5:13 "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life."

Some basic Spiritual truths are these...
1. GRACE
God promises Heaven to us, and it is a free gift according to Romans 6:23. It can never be earned or deserved, just as Ephesians 2:8-9 says.

2. MAN
The only problem is that man is a sinner.  Romans 3:23 confirms that "all have sinned;" and Romans 3:10 says that there is "none righteous."
Therefore we cannot save ourselves...Ephesians 2:9 says that it is "not of works, lest any man could boast."

3. GOD: Two things are true about God...
    A.  God is merciful, and therefore He doesn't want to punish us for our sin - I John 4:8 says that "God is love."
    B.  God is just, therefore He must punish sin.
So, as you can see, man is in a predicament, but God has a solution!

4.  JESUS CHRIST
Jesus is the infinite God-Man.  John 1:1 says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."  John 1:14 says that "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us." But, we also must know what Jesus did!  He died on the cross, and rose from the dead to pay the penalty for our sins and to purchase a place for us in Heaven!  Isaiah 53:6 (NASB) puts it like this, "All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him."
How do you receive this gift of salvation that Jesus has paid for with His own life and blood?

5.  FAITH
Faith is the key to Heaven! It isn't just some kind of intellectual truth that we now agree with, for even the devil believes that Jesus is real, and he trembles according to James 2:19.  So faith has to be something more than just head-knowledge or knowing that Jesus exists, and died on the cross... Faith is about trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life.  This is the kind of thing we see in Acts 16:31 (NASB) when it says "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."  This belief/faith is one that places trust in the work of Jesus on the cross by which we now live according to His teachings and truths.

If this makes sense to you, would you like to receive the gift of eternal life now? It's easy!
1.  Admit that you are a sinner, and ask for God's forgiveness by repenting of your sins.  Romans 10:13 says that "everyone who call on the name of the Lord will be saved."
2.  Believe in Jesus Christ, and put your trust in Him as your only hope of salvation.  John 3:16 (NASB) "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."  John 1:12 (NASB) "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name..."
3.  Confess that Jesus is your Lord!
Romans 10:9 (NASB) "...that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved..."

If you have made this decision today, please tell somebody about it!  We would love to hear of your decision as well.  Then, we would take great pleasure in helping you to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ!  Either e-mail us at wagm@windhamag.org or call us at 207.892-2238 to share of this life-changing decision you have made.  If you don't have a Bible, we would love to give you one too!

We value connection at WAG and we believe it is important for everyone to find a place to connect and grow. We were not meant to live this life alone. Connecting with others, developing authentic relationships and building community is an essential part of a healthy, Christian life. Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend."

Our Small Groups are the best place to establish these relationships and grow together in faith. Each group provides a safe and welcoming environment designed to encourage, empower, and celebrate each person in our church family as a unique and significant part of God’s plan.

The format and atmosphere of each group varies depending on the leaders and the people in the group, but they all exist to help people connect with each other and with God. For more information on the available groups, please call or join us on our Church Community Builder site by clicking on the image below. If you would like to start a small group please email us at wagm@windhamag.org.

Others with  God

In our church we believe that it is important to grow and constantly fill ourselves with the love, joy, and peace that comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ so that we can constantly pour it out onto our community. James writes that “faith without works is dead.” Unused faith is as useless as money unspent.

How do we put this into practice? We are dedicated to being a involved in our community on a regular basis and adding value to the lives of those in our region. Jesus was a servant of the people and our desire is to embrace that lifestyle. Please visit our Ministries page and check out our Outreach Ministry, Mission 3:16, for more information.
